The first livery (1978) of the Talbot van was "Lipton's Tea". The dark green body is complemented by a matte black roof and a glossy black chassis with fenders. First released with a royal crest on the side which Lesney had not obtained permission to reproduce and following the refusal by the Lord Chamberlain's office to grant Lesney permission to use the Royal Crest the model livery had to be revised.

Livery: Royal Crest (Tampo)
Van sides: 'LIPTONS TEA' in yellow. - Royal Crest in yellow. - 'BY APPOINTMENT' in yellow.

Variations/Rarities: It had a dark green body with a matt black roof and matt or gloss black chassis and black seats. The model with a matt black chassis is rare.
It had either dark green 12 spoke or 12 or 24 spoke chrome wheels.
Lesney encountered teething problems with their newly acquired tampo printing machine. At different times, the production models were either given a black shadow effect to the words 'Lipton's Tea' or none at all. The crested version had shadow effect to the lettering and crested vans without the shadow are hard to find.

Livery: City Road (Tampo)
Van sides: 'LIPTONS TEA' in yellow. - 'CITY ROAD, LONDON, EC1' in yellow. - Liptons Company Logo in yellow.

Variations/Rarities: The City Road logo vans were almost identical but the later issues had olive green 12 spoke wheels as well as 12 spoke green and 12 or 24 spoke chrome.
The tampo printing problems continued as with the first livery. The version with shadow effect to the lettering is also hard to find.

Interesting Facts: There was much demand for the earlier crested version but it is now clear that it is quite common so now there is not so much demand for it.
